Fernando Jones is an original. This world-class American Bluesman, educator and songwriter was born to loving Mississippi parents on the Southside of Chicago in Bronzeville who were advocates for educationand the arts. Jones has performed his compositions across the world from basement parties to the University of Hawaii to The Smithsonian Institution to the Conservatory of Music in Pescara, Italy.
Inspired by his older brothers, Foree, Marvin and Greg, Jones, the baby of the family, taught himself how to play guitar when he was just four years old, and has been playing from then to now. Fernando Jones & My Band! (his band) is a sharp dressed, raw guitar driven power trio: An uncle, a nephew and a Godson. Their sound [is] full, sexy, original and always evoving.
He is the "go-to-guy" for all things Chicago Blues from performing at festivals to lecturing at universities to acting in theatrical productions to inspiring a new generation of Blues Kids. Click here for the full bio.
"Fernando is one in a million trying to get to the bottom of the barrel of the Blues.”
